Videojet Launches New, Faster 3640 CO2 Laser Marking System to Meet Manufacturers’ Speed Demands

The new 3640 60-Watt CO2 laser works hard in the busiest of environments, giving manufacturers peace of mind to meet and help exceed their coding performance needs 24/7/365

CHICAGO – May 2, 2017 – In response to manufacturers’ needs for high-performance laser marking systems, Videojet Technologies, a global leader in coding, marking and printing solutions, has expanded its successful range of CO2 laser marking systems with the introduction of the new Videojet 3640 60-Watt laser marking system. This high power CO2 laser system is engineered to process complex codes at the highest speeds, with the industry’s widest mark field.

Videojet understands the need for high-quality codes on products especially in the pharmaceutical, tobacco and high-speed beverage markets. The new Videojet 3640 CO2 laser solution offers enhanced speeds in data processing and communication, helping customers to code more products on the production line faster.

The Videojet 3640 has the ability to process over 1,000 variable codes per minute with dot matrix and four lines of text in the tobacco industry, with no noticeable lag. Additionally, manufacturers can start coding their products straight away, with no need to wait for data buffering to be complete, again saving manufacturers time and money on the production line.

Pharmaceutical manufacturers can benefit from the Videojet 3640 laser by marking up to 600 GS1 codes and five lines of text per minute, while beverage manufacturers have the ability to mark over 80,000 bottles per hour with up to three lines of text.

“We know that manufacturers’ production demands are growing and they require high-performance lasers to meet their increasing production speeds,” said Sascha Ammesdoerfer, Laser Business Unit Manager at Videojet Technologies. “The improved speed and coverage capabilities of the new Videojet 3640 CO2 laser mean they can now mark more text per product, offering customers a high quality CO2 laser marking solution that they have come to expect from Videojet.”

The new Videojet 3640 laser offers the widest marking field in the industry, compared to other leading 60-Watt lasers on the market today, increasing throughput and productivity for manufacturers. It can cover up to 600mm marking field width, allowing certain wide web applications to be addressed with the least amount of lasers, freeing up both space and capital to invest elsewhere.

“Videojet offers this high-performance laser to meet the highest production speeds in a number of markets, including pharmaceutical, tobacco and high-speed beverage,” said Ammesdoerfer. “The vast range of CO2 laser marking systems we offer delivers the marking performance customers need to help them achieve their production goals.”
